Replace an exercise for another one for the same muscle groups if any of this is true:

  1. You are no longer getting stronger for reps on the exercise.
  2. The exercise feels very stale, pump of high tension doesn’t feel in the muscles.
  3. The exercise gives you joint/connective tissue pain that is getting worse the more you use that exercise.

If an exercise doesn’t meet any of those criteria - leave it in! There should be a good reason to change an exercise, not a reason not to.
