Long-term credentials used with IAM users.

Donโ€™t change automatically or regularly. Should be updated manually by the user.

Looks like this:

Access Key ID: AKIA6LAMNMVKNNAPKPMM
Secret Access Key: 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

User can have up to two sets of access keys.

States the set of access keys can be in:

  • created
  • deleted
  • inactive
  • active

Secret access key is given by the AWS the moment itโ€™s created, and there are no ways to retrieve this value again.

If secret access key is lost, you need to delete the old set of access keys, and create a brand new.
